Description

The film was released in 2013 and was written and directed by Ahmad Abdalla, who also directed the 2011 film 'Microphone'. It tells the story of a prisoner who was set free in the very early days of the 2011 revolution. It was reported that a number of prisons were opened on 28 January 2011 and thousands of prisoners escaped. How this happened and who was responsible for it caused a huge debate in the country, but no one has been held accountable at the time of writing.
The film chronicles the journey of one of these escaped prisoners as he roams Cairo, witnessing the revolution from the point of view of the city's poor neighbourhoods.
