Description

Inspired by the book ‘Tweets from Tahrir’ by Nadia Idle and Alex Nunns, this film follows the experiences of five young, English-speaking ‘tweeps’. A year on from the stepping down of Hosni Mubarak in February 2011, the film assesses the challenges still facing Egypt’s revolutionaries. There was much focus on the role of Twitter in the 2011 revolutions. Using their daily tweets, the film traces Egypt's journey through the euphoria of the 18 days that ended in the fall of Mubarak to the harsh reality of the 12 months that have followed.
