Muslim Brotherhood cartoon
            Subject
Political Cartoon
            Description
The cartoonist views the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. The accompanying text in English says: 'If the elephant passes through the needle's eye, Moslem Brotherhood can be a peaceful group!!'
This cartoon was published in the aftermath of the clearing of the pro-Muslim Brotherhood protest sit-ins in Rabaa and Nahda Squares (14 August 2013), which were protesting against the army's removal of Mohamed Morsi from power on 3 July. Those who supported the clearing of the sit-ins accused the Muslim Brotherhood of hoarding weapons and perpetrating violence. However, security forces used lethal violence that resulted in at least 800 deaths of protesters -- similar to or even greater than the numbers of people killed by the Chinese authorities in the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989. By contrast, only 8 police officers were killed by protesters.
